Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

If you plan on visiting New York City or it's on your bucket place of places to visit, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens should definitely be on your list of places to see. This hidden gem is located in the beautiful borough of Brooklyn and is an oasis outside of the hustle and bustle of the city, and if you are a nature lover, you will fall in love.

Let me paint the picture, just across the street from the popular Prospect Park and Zoo, awaits Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Take a stroll as you are surrounded by lush trees, beautiful flowers, and an abundance of plants.

Fancy a lunch break? There are many benches to stop and do so whether solo, with friends or family, or why not set up a picnic in the shade of a tree. Do you love water? Take a stroll and pause for a minute by the stream, I promise it's just what you need.

Now let's talk about selfies, and capturing those amazing photos. Do not leave the gardens without snapping a few photos by the white arches, perfect for memories of your special day, this is an absolute must see during your visit; see photos below.

One last tip, be sure to check to see if there are any deals or offers for free admission when you are planning your visit to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, a must see on any NYC trip!

Fly Delta Airlines

I have travelled with quite a few airlines throughout my travel journey, but today I want to share with you hands down one of my best flight experiences to date. I made a decision to travel during the pandemic which in itself was already a nerve racking decision because of the risk involved but was something that needed to be done.

This would not be my first time flying to one of my favourite cities New York City, but it would be my first time flying to Dallas Fort Worth, and I had the task of figuring which airline would be the best option for this leg of my trip. After spending some time on google flights, Delta proved to be the ultimate winner with the most affordable fares. Not only were their fares affordable, but their website was very easy to navigate and their customer service was amazing.

Now let's talk about the actual flight experience, one word "class." The Delta experience is truly that, an experience! The in-flight crew was friendly and professional, the comfortably of the flight was excellent, it was like being in first-class but in reality you were in economy, just awesome all around. In addition, the communication with regards to all details related to my flight were up to par, they always keep you informed in a professional manner, and the flight itself was by far one of the smoothest I have ever experienced. For someone who can sometimes get jittery before flights, this was truly a gift.

Lastly, I want to talk about an amazing partnership that Delta has with Lyft that saved me so much on rides throughout my trip. Delta and Lyft have partnered where you can earn sky miles when you fly with Delta and sign up to ride with Lyft. When you fly with Delta and sign up for Lyft as a new user, you are rewarded with $20 free Lyft credit, yes you heard me right, free credit! Now we all know how expensive using Lyft can be, so this was a major help to me and something you should definitely take advantage of if you decide to fly with Delta! If you are interested, see the link below:

To sum it all up, I would highly recommend flying Delta, definitely pure class! Keep them in mind when planning your next domestic or international trip. I hope you guys enjoy this post and until next time:

Bon Voyage!

Visit Brooklyn New York

When most people think of New York City, they automatically think Times Square, Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, bright lights, but what if I told you there was way more to this city, way more than just what meets the eye?

Travel with me to the diverse borough of Brooklyn, home to some of the most breathtaking sights, like the Brooklyn Bridge and the captivating Brooklyn Museum. The biggest borough after Queens, Brooklyn is definitely worth a visit.

Within this vast borough, is a beautiful neighborhood known as Canarsie; if you are looking for a quiet location but still want the ease of getting to the city and it's many attractions, Canarsie is for you! Home to places like the Canarsie Pier, this neighborhood boasts amazing views, and is ideal if you need a break from the fast pace life. There are also many beautiful parks where you can enjoy a picnic, exercise or just take in nature. With easy access to trains and buses, you can easily visit some of Brooklyn's well known sites, such as, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, which is definitely a must see oasis in Brooklyn. Also, the absolutely peaceful Prospect Park just across the street, and Prospect Park Zoo, which is great for children and adults alike, all conveniently located in the same area!

If shopping is your forte, King's Plaza is one of the most popular shopping malls in Brooklyn and is also a short distance away. Here you can find stores like Primark, Burlington, Pandora to name a few, and loads of places to choose from to have lunch.

Do not leave Brooklyn without visiting Coney Island, the views from the boardwalk are to die for! Hop on a rollercoaster, get on the Wonder Wheel, drive a bumper car or take a walk on the beach. Don't end this adventure without trying some funnel cake or some cheese fries. Coney Island is a must see, so be sure to add it to your list!

Well guys, I hope I have given you a deeper insight if you have been thinking of visiting this unique borough, and best wishes on your visit! As usual, leave me a comment below with your thoughts and feel free to follow. Until my next post, stay safe guys!

Tips for your first solo trip

Hey guys! I hope everyone is staying safe and doing well. I know many persons love to travel, but some often have anxiety when they consider travelling alone, so I just wanted to share a few tips if you are thinking about embarking on your first solo trip!

Firstly, the major key to successfully planning your first solo trip and curbing a lot of your initial anxiety, is to do research. Extensively research the country or place you are planning to visit, and specifically the area you will be in. Make sure it's safe, make sure it's accessible to the activities you are interested in doing whilst on your trip.

Secondly, finding accommodation where you will be comfortable. If you have never used Airbnb, I highly recommend it; there are loads of options to meet any budget. Start looking early so you can secure an accommodation that best suits you, whether it be a private room/shared accommodation or having an entire place to yourself. Use my code below to save on your next stay!

Thirdly, book your airline ticket in advance. Once you have decided on the dates for your trip, make that reservation. This will save you money, as the longer you wait, the higher the ticket prices will be, especially during peak seasons. Another tip, I have often found that booking two one way tickets works out to be more affordable than booking a round trip. Thank me later!

Next, transportation. Make sure you have figured out how you will get around in your intended destination, will you take the bus, taxi, etc. Research what options are available to you and plan ahead accordingly.

For activities, I would suggest making a list of the places you want to visit, and directions on how to get there in advance. I did this and it was definitely a lifesaver, and made my trip go way more seamlessly.

Finally, make sure you have adequate funds to cover all your expenses for the duration of your trip, and in case you encounter any unforeseen emergencies.

Well those are some of my tips guys! If you have found these helpful, please feel free to comment below. I always reply, and feel free to leave any of your tips as well. Until next time, stay safe guys💙

Travel Ideas during a pandemic

I know many of my fellow travel junkies have been experiencing a very difficult time during this pandemic. Having had to cancel many long awaited trips and plans, it's been tragic. So what is the alternative, how can you still have new experiences and adventures, and create memories during this time? Let me give you a few suggestions on how you can still get your travel fix! Firstly, staycation, staycation, staycation! Why not explore your own city? Book a hotel, book an airbnb for a weekend or a week, why not? I know it doesn't beat that international destination but you'd be surprised at how much fun you could have. Research activities that you have never done in your city, and make it a getaway! Secondly, why not travel within your own country? Flight prices during this time are on special and you'd be pleasantly surprised to see the deals airlines are offering, so why not travel to a different state or province, see something new! I caution you of course to do this safely and observe all relevant protocols. Finally, why not make it a vacation in your own backyard! Create your trip ideas or recreate that cancelled trip at home, why not?! Turn your home into that oasis or your backyard into that adventure, and make it memorable. If you can't go on that dream trip, bring that dream trip to you; be creative!! Those are just a few of my tips for helping my fellow travel lovers survive your travel withdrawals. I really hope it gives you guys some ideas to get you through these trying times; enjoy a few travel pictures below :)

Travel to Prague Czech Republic

If Prague has always been on your bucketlist, you should probably keep reading. This sought after destination by many travel lovers alike was definitely on my travel list from the the first time I saw a photo on Facebook a few years ago, so I could not miss the opportunity to visit this gem when I travelled to Berlin a couple years ago. For those of you in Berlin, Prague is a mere 5 hour bus ride via Flixbus, a service I would highly recommend. Flixbus is very comfortable, affordable and offers many amenities to make your journey a great one; I would highly recommend Flixbus for your trip to Prague if you are already in Europe! What I first fell in love with in Prague were the buildings, the architecture is breathtaking! That is to be closely rivaled with its cobblestoned roads which gives you a fairytale feeling, it's like something straight out of a movie! There is just something about Prague that is magical..... So where should you go when in Prague? My favourite places were definitely Old Town Square, where there are a number of great restaurants to choose from, Prague Castle is beautiful, and of course you can't leave without taking a stroll on Charles Bridge, the views are to die for, make sure to whip out your camera for this one! Here's an important tip for your guys before I go, when visiting Prague, do not, and I repeat DO NOT exchange cash with anyone on the streets, scamming is very common, please use an ATM or local bank and be mindful of your surroundings! Prague is most definitely a must see when in Europe, and is everything and more that it's hyped up to be, add this destination to your travel list guys! Enjoy some pics below from my trip to Prague, absolute magic!

Travel to St.Vincent and the Grenadines

The day had finally arrived, Saturday the 5th of August, had it only been two years?? Because it felt more like a decade. My long awaited flight, thank God had not been cancelled, and was on schedule to leave at 9:45, on the well-known Caribbean Airline. So excited was I to enter the departure lounge, that I ran into a of couple people. I had always loved airports, the beauty in hellos and goodbyes, the hustle and the bustle, that feeling of anticipation, and the crowds of anxious people. As I began to board my flight, I had the most intense butterflies, because my desired destination, was a mere 30 minute flight. Before I could finish the last chapter of my novel, we were landing at the E.T Joshua Airport, and immediately that warm feeling enveloped me, as that all too familiar scenery overwhelmed me, and my second home was finally within reach. As I made my way through immigration, and to the happy familiar faces Known as family who awaited me, my mind raced as to what I wanted to do first. As I drove into the country, I was breath taken by the views around me, as if I was seeing it all again for the very first time, from the mountains high above me, to the ocean in the far off distance. Around and around we go through the winding roads, But I could not settle in without first making a stop at the village bakery. Oh how I have missed these mouthwatering treats, from the freshly baked bread to the delicious pastries like “red belly.” It’s the next day and I’m ready to hit the popular Villa beach, just but one of this island’s pristine beaches, and of course in the distance, the coveted Young Island. The following days seem like a blur, as I share precious moments with family members, and take in all this beautiful country I have grown to love so much has to offer. But I must say, if you ever do have the privilege of visiting this hidden treasure, please do not leave without visiting the amazing restaurant known as French Verandah. As I prepare to depart, a mere two weeks later, that bittersweet feeling takes over, as once again I have to say tearful goodbyes, to familiar faces and this gem of an isle……. St. Vincent and the Grenadines….way more than what simply meets the eye.
